In August, the English Department welcomed students from Turkey, Algeria, Russia, Tunisia, Kazakhstan and Italy. Students have been working hard to improve their grammar, vocabulary, and confidence in speaking. Lessons have focused on past tense forms, while reading, writing, and discussion activities have helped students connect language to everyday topics and culture. Outside the classroom, students enjoyed visits to the V&A East Storehouse, the Olympic Park, and Hampstead, where they practised their English in real contexts and explored different aspects of London life. Their enthusiasm and progress have been fantastic, and we look forward to building on this momentum in September. |

Docklands Academy is excited to announce the launch of its new Speaking Club, building on the success of our previous gatherings at Hazev Restaurant, where members of the community came together to share ideas and grow in confidence. Now hosted at our home site, this new chapter of the club offers an even richer experience, featuring local individuals with valuable knowledge, expertise, and the ability to inspire. With a focus on developing communication and public speaking skills, the Speaking Club provides a welcoming space where participants can learn, practice, and connect, while continuing the tradition of fostering community spirit and personal growth. |
